We made it! The Centennial Commission Board of Directors and Commission Members would like to thank you, the City of Tomball, for celebrating and making December 2nd, truly a night to remember.

Thank you to President H. W. Bush, General Chris Adams and Tom Koch for your personal and touching addresses.  The music and parade of decades was the hit of the night, thanks to our Tomball ISD school district's students, band and choir.  The Texas Master Chorale was on the mark.  The fireworks were awesome and of course, the patriotic spirit and love of Tomball evident in the crowd was a true blessing!

It was a great ending to a great year!

General Chris Adams

And special thanks to all of our sponsors, without whom, we could not have made it possible!

Message from our Pres...

“Since none of us will be here to celebrate Tomball’s 200th birthday, I wish to take this opportunity to invite you and your family and friends to visit Tomball during 2007 as our city celebrates its Centennial.  In anticipation of this historic event, we decided that having only one event was not our dream for Tomball.

Known as the Hometown with a Heart, Tomball represents those things that families desire – a hometown with good schools, great businesses, churches of all denominations, fine medical facilities, a thriving economy, and great friends and neighbors.  We are proud of our city and invite you to visit us during this event filled year…” Click here for more.

Centennial Quilt

Quilt is machine-pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand-quilted by the Community Center Quilters for the City of Tomball 2007 Centennial. Colors are red, black, and off-white in keeping with the City’s logo, “Hometown with a Heart”, which is featured in the center of the quilt. Cost of materials was paid by the Tomball Centennial Commission. Materials were purchased at The Hen House, 5701 Louetta, Ste 200, Spring, TX 77379. The owner, Stephanie Jezierski, gave a substantial discount as her donation to the Centennial and offered to hang the quilt in her store. The quilters have offered to take the quilt for display and ticket sales at the meeting of their Woodlands Quilt Guild.

The winner of the quilt will be announced soon!   The winning ticket was drawn December 2, 2007, at our big Birthday Bash!  All proceeds are to benefit the Tomball Centennial Commission.

Quilters pictured with the quilt, Darlena Vanderslice on the left and Judy Turner is on the right. Not pictured but who also have quilted is Katherine Seber, Vera Thien, Myrice Headley, Katherine Artman, and Virgie Price.
