Message from Centennial President,
Diane Holland
The
joy of living in a small town is the ability to come
together to celebrate life and home with family,
friends, and neighbors…our Centennial is rapidly
approaching.
Message from Centennial President,
Diane Holland
Our goal
of offering a Centennial event every weekend throughout
the year has become a reality with over 52 sanctioned
events planned for 2007. Beginning in January and
continuing through the end of the year, there is
something to do almost every weekend in Tomball, Texas.
On January
27th, the 100th anniversary of the
first train to stop in Tomball, we will dedicate our
newly refurbished and relocated train depot during
Tomball Train Day. Then, for Valentine’s Day, our
heart-filled community will celebrate love and marriage
as couples are recognized for decade anniversaries,
essay entries, Tomball’s Centennial Sweethearts (our
longest married couple), a wedding vow renewal ceremony,
and our Centennial Wedding held in our city municipal
building.
On April
21st the first ever Tomball Trash Ball
will take place as we recognize Earth Day and the
environment. Contests, fun, food, and entertainment
will be offered throughout the day at two of our
adjacent local parks.
On June 1
– 3, Lone Star Chevrolet will present the Tomball
Heartbeat Festival, a three-day event designed for
all ages. Join us as Texas musicians entertain us
throughout the day, while games, food, children’s
activities, and a carnival add their appeal to the
venue.
September
16th marks the date of our Fall Fiesta.
You won’t want to miss this celebration or Tomball’s
first ever Biker Rally scheduled for October 13th.
On
December 2, 2007, the actual birthday of Tomball, we
will host a gigantic party at our high school stadium.
Sure to be a hit, this final activity will feature
music, special guest speakers, a parade of the decades,
fireworks, and birthday cake for everyone.
We invite
you to visit our great hometown to find out more about
this exciting year in Tomball. Located on SH 249, our
proximity to I-45 and US 290 provides easy access from
just about anywhere. Check out our hotels and motels,
our restaurants, and our local businesses while you are
here. Come join the fun, stay a while, enjoy life as it
should be as we celebrate this exciting year. We would
love to have you as our guests.
Sincerely,

Diane N. Holland
